ECDC/PVO HIV/AIDS Surveillance report of the year 2014

ECDC/PVO HIV/AIDS Surveillance report of the year 2014 was recently made available to the public. Latvia in year 2014 had the second most new cases of HIV positive persons in the EU. During this year, WHO changed their suggestions about HIV treatments – they suggest to start the treatment right after the diagnostics, and they suggest treating serodiscordant couples. In order to increase quicker HIV diagnostics, ECDC suggest increasing the number of HIV testing – they suggest testing in non-medical facilities and testing at home.
