During the opening press conference the first public HIV test has been made

In Latvia nearly 7,000 people are infected with HIV. While the world’s newly discovered HIV cases are decreasing, in Latvia this number continues to increase. Even more – the real number of infected persons could be twice as large. In Latvia HIV exists, spreads rapidly and refers to all sexually active people, especially heterosexual. In order to reduce public stigma of this disease and to promote a more active testing, today was officially opened information campaign # REIZIGADĀ (transl. once in a year).

During the campaign, people will be encouraged to make HIV test on a regular basis – once a year.

During the opening press conference, the first public HIV test was made to Ghetto Games leader Raimonds Elbakjans – official messenger of the campaign.
