Baltic HIV Association starts to work on a pilot study on the trial of innovative HIV testing activities for the risk group

In July 2017 NGO “Baltic HIV Association” signed an agreement with Riga Stradins University on the new pilot study on innovative HIV testing activities in the population of men who have sex with men.

The study is a part of HERMETIC project which aim is to contribute in decrease of new cases of HIV by raising the proportion of people who are aware of their HIV status and promoting care accessibility.

In order to achieve the goals of the HERMETIC project, Baltic HIV association will conduct a pilot study on the spread of HIV (prevalence) in the group of MSM using innovative technology – oral secretion rapid tests.

The pilot study will help to reduce the number of undiagnosed cases, to follow the HIV prevalence within MSM, and to approbate the innovative testing technology in Latvia.

It is planned that pilot study will be completed by November 30, 2017
